Best tape for winter window plastic
I don't like plastic and have as little of it in my home as possible. My home is a large drafty second floor of an old Victorian. The windows rattle, the wind finds its way in, and in winter that's a problem. The little winterize your windows kits don't work on these windows. Finally I got thick clear plastic in rolls and cut sheets to cover the windows. Finding tape that would work and also look half decent was a problem. I thought I found the answer in a clear DUCK tape made for indoor/outdoor use, but before long it started losing against the wind. I went shopping again and tried the Scotch Transparent DUCT Tape by 3M, and it works great. It sticks and stays stuck, and it looks pretty good, too. The only thing I don't like about it is how well it sticks to itself if you don't handle it just right when you're working with it. Once I got the knack, though, I happily taped plastic on every window, and am glad to tell you that it's nice and warm in here.
