It's almost impossible to get a good strip out and onto a box without it either 1) cutting the box with it's blade, 2) cutting the tape cleanly unless it's at the perfect angle, or 3)the roll sliding a bit off the roller just enough to fold the tape as it dispenses.
After I made several design changes myself, it's working.

All staff in our department found this tape gun nearly impossible to use. Clever design that does not pan out to functionality. The recessed blade might be safer but if you don't hold the dispenser at just the right angle, the tape will not tear off and you end up wasting tape.
It did seem sturdy and long-lasting, but we are returning it.

My warehouse guys love this product. They tape up large shipments and never have a problem with it breaking or not working correctly for them. It is stong and durable unlike most tape guns.

Tape gun is hard to use, overall. Tape easily slides off core. Hard to cut at different angles. Tape end does not stay secure; must often manually hold end to begin taping.

I have two of these now. BEST tape dispenser found so far - have had 20 or more dispensers over the years. This thing WORKS GREAT. Don't skimp with the other stuff get the BEST - it is a real pleasure to use. Maybe a bit more expensive than the others but WORTH TWICE the price. GET THIS ONE. Buy TWO right away so you have the different packing tapes ready to use.

The tape roll continually slides off the dispenser. I even tried tightening and loosening the tension knob but it slides off all the time. It's going in the garbage as soon as I get a new one.

I purchased one of these and thought it was the greatest thing and purchased another. I love it, can't imagine my job without one. I bought it because I thought of the name "shark" that it would be funny so glad I did, it's worth every penny.
