Comments about Swingline Smoothgrip Desktop Staplers; Blue:
The staples DO NOT close. I bought 2 to start with. After complaining to Swinglne they replaced them and they didn't work either. Makes a good paperweight.
Not worth the money

Very hard to press and think it clicks down very hard and jams up all the time. Would not recommend this to anyone
Doesn't work

It doesn't actually work. Won't staple more than a few pages well, and won't staple more than ten pages at all. Very disappointed in this purchase. It says it staples 20 pages, not even close.
Not quite what I expected.

I try to use this stapler for even small uses, but it jams almost everytime, and I waste several mintues each time to open the top and get the staple out. It doesn't even staple cleanly through 10 sheets of paper, much less 20.

I have had this stapler for about 5 months. Since the first use it has had trouble closing the staple with more than 5 sheets of paper. If you are using this for only a couple pages it works great. I have to close the staple myself if there are more pages (if the staple even goes through). 90% of the time when stapling more than 7 pages it won't go through the pages.

Nice looking stapler, when stapling more than 6 sheets the stapler doesn't close the staple in the back so I have to bend it myself. This is kind of a pain. I did expect this from a cheaper stapler but having the Swingline name I did expect a little more.

Love it!
By Picky Shopper
I bought 3 staplers to try out (some from another office supply store). Out of the 3, this one was the best. I returned one that was 3 times the cost of this one because it required much more effort to use (even though it was one of the 2-finger touch models). I was looking for 4 things in a stapler:1) easy to operate with little effort required (I have arthritis in fingers & wrist)2) jam-free3) consistent stapling with neat, closed staples4) small in overall size (due to limited desktop space)I did not expect much out of this low-priced stapler but bought because the grip felt so comfortable in my hand - I love the "Soft Grip" material. I couldn't believe, when I got it home and tried it, how well it worked. It requires so little effort to squeeze that, at first, I thought it hadn't even gone through the paper. I have had for about 3 months now, use several times a week, and have never had one jam or one unclosed staple – no malfunctions whatsoever.I also like that it will stand upright without falling over. I store mine in a desk caddy, and it fits nicely (the widest part of this stapler is 2¼ inches).I should have gone out and bought a new stapler years ago, instead of putting up with the annoying one I had been using -- was constantly jamming & rarely stapled correctly through more than 2 sheets of paper. In reading the reviews from people who say it didn't work, I would suggest that you take it back and exchange it – it may just be a lemon.
DO NOT BUY!

Completely worthless stapler. Bought to replace a stapler that jammed once in awhile. This one jams every 2nd or 3rd job. The staples don't close all the way and there is always a huge space between the metal and paper. Definitely can't handle 20 pages. I can't fathom how there are any good reviews for this product.
