Worst Chair I've Ever Owned
Comments about Alera Interval Series Swivel Task Stool, 100% Acrylic With Tone-On-Tone Pattern, Graphite:
This is the most uncomfortable chair. I wanted something that would allow me to sit up a little higher while I draw and paint. Since I've started using it, I've had increasing pain in my lower back.
It also puts pressure on the underside of my thighs that sometimes causes my legs to fall asleep. That's because I usually let them hang. I let my legs hang because the support bar is uncomfortable on my feet. I sometimes prop up on the ball of my feet and roll my toes over the bar instead of putting the pressure on my arches.
The seat cushion is sub-par. It "deflated" rather quickly and you can feel the hard plastic underneath as you sit. It doesn't cause any major discomfort to the cheeks, but it's not especially comfortable either.
The back rest is also terrible. The tightening knob is incredibly ineffective and the back rest will start to drop down as you rest against it. You need to regularly raise the back rest and tighten the knob. This poorly designed, poorly functioning part of the chair is probably what's causing the lower back pain.
