This battery backup unit works perfectly, is very solid and well-made, and just inspires confidence. The LCD display provides a lot of very useful information about energy usage, etc, but only when you want to see it. The design and build quality are excellent. As a bonus, I've eliminated a couple of extension cords and now my monitor, speakers, etc. are turned off automatically when I turn off the computer.

Initially did not charge. Had to follow instructions in this thread to jumpstart the UPS: http://forums.apc.com/thread/13550?tstart=0. Has performed okay since.

Ran into an immediate issue with the unit not charging initially. The problem resolved itself but customer support sent a replacement UPS within a couple days of the reported problem
