Wanted 3 ring storage for photo albums using 8 1/2 x 11 sheet protectors. Standard binders lying flat and stacked 2 or 3 high will compress the bottom pages. Standard binders standing on edge distort the pages. HANGING binders in a filing cabinet seemed to be a great solution... HOWEVER, this product is only good for 'bare' pages. If you use vinyl sheet protectors, the added half inch at the 'ring' edge of the page protector causes the page to extend out of the binder and curls at the bottom of the file drawer. (Not good for photos). Perhaps newer file cabinets with deeper drawers can accommodate the hanging binders and not bottom out. Bottom line: fine for hole punched pages... maybe not so fine for page protectors that you don't want curled. Check your drawer depth if you intend to use this product with page protectors. Should be 10" (255mm) or greater from the 'hang edge' to the drawer bottom.

WORKS VERY WELL. BETTER THAN EXPECTED. WOULD HAVE LIKED A LITTLE MORE DIRECTION IN HOW THE BINDER RINGS FUNCTION AND LOCK. HOWEVER ONCE FIGURED OUT IT DOES A FINE JOB. I WAS LOOKING FOR A ONE INCH POST TYPE BUT COUD NOT FIND IT HAVE SEVERAL TWO INCH BOOKS WITH POSTS. I FEEL FOR THE PROCE IT IS A VERY GOOD VALUE AND WILL ORDER MORE. GOOD COLOR SELECTION AND THE NOT SO RIGID COVERS MAKE IT VERY EASY TO STORE IN MY FILE CABINET. I AM USING THESE FOR SMALL PROJECTS AND THE RINGS APPEAR TO BE VERY SECURE AND WILL BE USING THEM WITH SHEET PROTECTORS.

We use these binders to organize corporate minutes, financial data, insurance policies, inventories, and other major areas. They allow us to file them and keep everything neatly...no file folders messes or staples to deal with.

I bought this item based on other reviews, but when I got it, I was able to open the rings just once using the levers at the top and bottom. Now to get the rings open I have use my fingers to pry them apart!

I am going to assume that what I ordered just came out of a bad batch. I've used this type of binder before and I really like how you can hang it. I may try ordering this again in the future and hope for better luck.

I let my Staples account rep know the binder wasn't working out for me and they issued a credit.

Not that happy with these folders. I guess I expected a little higher quality for the price. The cheap plastic is hard to hold open, they spring closed too easily when trying to read documents. If you bend them at the seam, you chance tearing them. The closure rings are hard to open and close (remember to close the hanging mechanism before trying to open the rings!). There has to be a better material for the covers for me to order them again.

These binders are a great idea however they are not practical if you need to be able to keep the binder open as you leaf through it

Using for paperwork and hanging in a file cabinet.
Binder rings are a bit difficult to open -- you need to push in the pieces that allow the binder to hang before you can open/close and it is still a bit tricky. Other than that, the rings line up with no gap and the items do not fall out while hanging in the binder. I would buy again and hope that they improved the rings.
