I had to relocate my desktop computer and did not have access to the router to make the proper connection to use my wifi features. This little device with its cd and instruction guide provided what I needed.
I had the help of a staples employee when I made my choice and his knowledge of the location in the store, the various adapters which were on the shelf helped me to purchase what I needed.

We were looking for a usb wifi adapter for an old PC that would reach from the router located at one end of the basement of a long ranch house to the upstairs of the opposite end of the house. The salesman explained that the signal is best horizontally or vertically, so he was skeptical that this device would carry a range that included both, but this device has an exceptional range and fast signal. It was also super easy to install! I would definitely recommend this Belkin usb wifi adapter to anyone especially if you have a long range to cover.
