Meh! Not Up to Expectations

About Me Midrange Shopper
Comments about Belkin WaveRest Gel Mouse Pad:
The top fabric itself has a nice texture for the mouse to move across, but the layers are glued together, with unfinished edges, which start to separate and peel after a few months, and the gel section compressed into a pit shape, never to spring up again. It's still usable, but looks really unattractive, so I need to replace it mostly for cosmetic reasons. Mine came in the grey color, which quickly shows any dirt, so definitely get the black one if you're ordering. It seems uncleanable--I tried to blot parts with water, but it was left looking horrifically stained. The top fabric is completely loosened around the edges (which is not where I blotted water,) and easily flops back several inches on it's own all the time. In the gel area, it reveals the bottom rubber, the gel pad, topcover, etc. So while it still does support the wrist and move the mouse, I'm going to look for the former kind I had years ago, which rested in a thing plastic tray, giving the edges more protection from wear and fray.

About Me Budget Shopper
The product is comfortable and gets the job done. It slides from time to time but it's not something that is constantly aggrevating. Good product overall.

The Gel is not resilient
By Sandy

After only less than 2 weeks o use, the gel has compressed under my wrist and stayed indented. The gel did not bounce back to full blown. I do not recommend this wrist pad. It needs improvement on the resiliency of the gel under the wrist.

Functionally sound - terrible smell
By J_Fisch

Product is sleek, professional in appearance, yet the smell is horrendous. As soon as I opened the box containing the mousepad, the smell was overwhelming -I would compare it to a combination of chemical and paint smells. Obviously not what someone wants to smell all day while in the office.

Does the job

I like this mousepad for the most part. When I first received it, the wrist pad had a nice arch that felt great on my wrist. Now, after having it for a month, the wrist pad seems to have sunk in and there's a dip. I miss the arch, but it still works fine!
