After buying refillable mechanical pencils and unsuccessfully trying to refill them, even with the assistance of staff in the store, this product is a G-dsend. I use them for taking notes at work, and they work great when I do sudoko and crossword puzzles. I keep them everywhere: my desk, purse, kitchen, den and bedroom. The pencils are easy to find since they come in different colors. I have introduced them to friends, clients, and family who are also pleased. I highly recommend that you try them!

The lead is very weak to use when doing math problems. When the lead runs out its best to throw the pencil away instead of trying to take the eraser off the top. Its is useful to use during a scantron exam but f for a test with problems that need to be worked out I would have extra pencils. They were very good before but whatever the company did to reduce costs reduced the quality of the lead pencil.. they come in many different colors and they also come in a bulk so that's good. You don't have to sharpen the pencils because they are mechanical.

Bic pencils have to be the greatest pencils. I have purchased cadoozles, but find when they run out so quickly (because they are so short), there really is no reason to refill them, except if you still have the eraser! These pencils last for a long time and as a school teacher, I am constantly using pencils! They are colorful and individual, so the students do not take my pencils to use! I will continue to buy these, but wish they would come back out with the Bic "Great Erase" pencils - I love those even more!
