    As a physician I spend my day signing my name and writing notes in patient charts. In 30 years I've used every genus and species of pen, from cheapest to ridiculously expensive. This one has been my favorite over the last year or so; it writes extremely smoothly, and it's larger than most, making it harder to lose and less likely to induce writer's cramp. Gel ink smears easily, and you MUST avoid dripping water on the page; those are deal-breakers for some, but not for me. Still, if water is an issue in your writing environment, definitely go with a ballpoint rather than gel.

      I've used this product for a while now and find it superior to other gen pens, which I prefer to rollerball pens for everyday and notetaking uses as well as document drafting. Very smooth pen point and ink lines.

          This pen has great shock absorbsion for writing on thick 3 or 4-ply forms. However, the ink runs out very quickly and skips more often than not. Cost for this pen is too high, since it doesn't perform well for what it was intended, which is to write with! Not good at all for writing checks or extended note taking. Bic definitely needs to work on this product!!
