My last copier was a brother and it served it's purpose. There was nothing fancy about it, just a plain copier. I had it about 4 years and it finally bit the dust. I have a notary public business so I did use it frequently. I went shopping and was torn about whether to buy another brother or go with a cannon. I went home and did some homework on the internet about the 2 copiers I was interested in and the Brother MFC_8710DW came out way ahead of the cannon. So I went and purchased the Brother. Brought it home and I must say that I am impressed with it. I probably will never use the fax feature on it, but I really like the printer. The only thing that I would suggest to Brother is to come out with a copier that is a true 2 sided copier. Not just duplex printer.

This is an excellent all-in-one printer for a home business. I've always owned HP printers, but was convinced by a Staples salesperson to purchase a brother because it seemed to meet all my requirements -- and I couldn't be happier. It has a legal size scanner and copier, which I really wanted, and a second feed tray that takes any size paper. The fax has worked great with my distinctive ring line, and the automatic feed is quick and easy. The only negative I can think of is that it is a little loud while it's printing (and I sit right next to it), but it is absolutely worth that small annoyance for all the other positives.

As a realtor who frequently works at home, I have found that the Brother printer meets my home-office needs. I use the scanner for emailing documents, and frequently print and make copies of real estate listings, open house schedules, flyers, etc. for clients. So far, my only complaint is that my new printer seems noisier than my previous Brother printer. I brought my older Brother printer into the Hollywood Staples store, and was pleased to receive a $50 credit on the purchase of the new model MFC-8710DW. Sincerely, Anne

I did a lot of research before picking this printer. We (2 people) were setting up an office and needed to share a printer as well as have the ability to scan documents and send an ocassional fax. We were used to a giant size copier that did all of these things at our old location and one of the beauties of this machine is that it looks and acts like what you would find in a big office. It is just smaller. The second all purpose tray is great for envelopes or special sizes. It is a tad bit loud, but that is minor. Staples had a great price so that made it a deal. Staples also helped set it up and the tech was great.

This is a great printer, we replaced a Brother MFC laser printer which worked for 7 years with no problems, and I use this printer for at least 200 B&W pages a day. I had originally looked at Brother since the printer I was replacing was so great. It did not come to any surprise that this new printer has actually won awards for being so reliable and long lasting. The new printer prints fast, clear and prints quietly. I compared a cannon printer to this printer but it was more money, less PPM and the choice was clear. Brother is the brand to buy if you print high volume, no doubt.

The Brother MFC 8710 Died after 20 Days..If it died within 14 Days Staples would have exchanged it. Now I had to find an authorized Brother repair center and drive it there. They said it they would take a look at it and to call back in a week or so....I would think again about buying a Brother product.
