The seat is too narrow, even for a thin person like me, and I feel the back support should also offer height adjustment for individualized back support.

The stool is used primarily when filing papers. It allows the filer to sit while filing rather than squatting and bending constantly.

Tight furniture arrangement in my office made the large arm-rests on my fancy "ergonomic" desk chair very unwieldy.

First I tried a name-brand "artist's stool" with a 13" seat -- it just wasn't comfortable for more than a few minutes. The extra few inches (and slightly better padding) on this one make a significant difference, well worth the price. I wouldn't buy smaller than 16" seat for an adult of normal size, unless I could actually sit on it before purchase.

The legs are metal (not plastic) and placed well for me to use as footrest.
