It seems every cartridge needs replacing at once even though one colour is used more often than another. The product is fairly expencive and the life span is almost not worth the cost. We have had to restrict printing to a minimum. The printer, we have a Brother TN 315, will not allow only one cartridge to be replaced at a time, so when we run out of black ink all of the other colours must be replaced as well, it really is a hassel. The ink gets onto the rollers too easily.That being said the printer is fast and makes few mistakes as long as all of the rollers are clean.

We have 2 Brother laser printers. The toner is so expensive! One of these printers is out of comission because the toner cartridge is acting up!

I think it best to use Brother cartridges in Brother machines. Less worry about warranty issues. I have been disappointed that Staples does not carry high capacity cartridges in the stores, but as long as they are available online, OK.
