      I was not aware how quickly Brother printers eat toner when I bought them. Also would like to see all manufacturers standardize their cartridges so that you can benefit from the 2 packs which are slightly reduced. That also might generate a 3rd party manufacturer who could make the cartridges and might bring the cost down. A pet peeve of mine is how Brother printers will determine that the toner is getting low and will not allow you to print any more...my old HP let me decide when the print quality was poor and then I'd change the cartridge. All in all, HP costs more initially but is a better printer all around.
