This printer has NO Web Based Management. In order to manage it, you must install Control Center 4 on all computers you intend to use for occasional management tasks. You cannot use your tablet for such tasks unless you go for a complicated route of setting up remote access to a computer with CC4 installation.

There is embedded web server in the printer, but it only gives you options for disabling/enabling AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Worse, if you decide to enter your Google credentials in order to use GCP, there is no way to set a password protection to prevent users on the network from viewing this page. See attached screenshot of the web interface.

If this issue is of no concern to you, buy it, it's a smooth running piece of hardware.

Very nice look; I'm happy with the purchase. We've had this printer about a week, and it creates beautiful photos (on photo paper--too wet for regular), as well as crisp B&W docs. Tends to grab two pages (and sometimes overlap the printing)...but this may be me...I have tightened up the guide. I set it up for ethernet, then only had to set it up for wireless network on my desktop...and it works for all other wireless devices! One issue I have is the default settings. For example, it prints pages in order from 1, rather than from the last page. This can be changed, but the default should be so that page 25 is on the bottom and 1 on top. Also, 2-up on a page, should default to landscape...I had to keep adjusting.

I have not owned this printer for a long time but find it's operation flawless. Printing is fast and clear and professional looking. Had previously heard that Brother printers jam a lot but this is not the case with this device. Set-up was easy and not at all time consuming. Out of the box and printing in about thirty minutes. The ink cartrages are easy to install, and worked perfectly. Faxing was just as flawless as printing and copying. Have not used the scan feature yet but am sure that will work well.

This Brother printer replaces an older model which just stopped working reliably. It is similar in setup and use, but I feel it is made a little more flimsy...particularly the paper tray.
While I understand the Brother philosophy in changing the ink cartridge type every time a new printer comes out, it is an extra expense that has been bothering me since this is my 3rd generation of Brother printers, and every one has used a different ink cartridge.
The setup and use is very similar in every Brother I have used, and since no printer gets repaired in this day, I have no problem replacing the printer, but always end up with a bunch of unusable new ink cartridges.
