Decide that other than printing a few pages that needed color, most things that I need are in B&W. Why waste color ink on things that are not important.
This printer solves a number of problems, Size, cost, ink consumption.

If you manage your expectations so they are proportional to the price you paid, this is a good printer. The duplex function works very well. It is reasonably fast and the quality of the print is very good. If you want this printer to handle simple functions like "printing envelopes" you will find this is a quirky machine that can drive you crazy! Basically the machine is cheaply made and I believe the plastic paper handling mechanisms it will not stand up to regular adjustments and any rigorous use.

I did not have any problem setting up the printer for wired and wireless operation, but that is because I have a 2140 which is similar. I believe a novice would have a lot of trouble with the Set Up Guides instructions.

Generally, once I got past all of the quirky issues with paper handling and toner cartridges that only uses half of the toner before signaling that they need to be changed (taped off sensor windows and got additional 750 pages of print), I am reasonably satisfied with this and other Brother printers....considering the price I paid!!!!

Nice, small desk top printer; takes a minute to queue, but prints a quality mailing label for my eBay business. I use it daily and love the efficiency of a laser printer. Also, the cost of the cartridges is much better than ink jet.

I would and have highly recommended this product to those who do not need a color printer. This is a fantastic product and even has a printer setting which automatically prints on both sides of a page. NO TURNING THE PAGE OVER!

I've been very pleased with this printer. I got
it for my arts and crafts projects along with a more economical way
for my kids to print their school work. Very fast, just a bit loud, but not bad.

We only print a few pages a day in our family, but this printer is perfect for us. The wireless feature works great. Other wireless printers that we've tried sometimes go offline and take effort to reconnect with. We needed a printer that would fit in a small area and this one does. We have found that other printers, especially inkjets, have document feed trays or a document output trays that stick out beyond the printer body and require much more space. The print quality is great and it prints super fast. I would definitely recommend.
