      I support several of these printers in our offices and they are wonderful machines. Brother's support line is always helpful and the techs are very knowledgeable. Yes, the toner and drums are expensive, but no more so than any other LaserJet out there.

      For those of you complaining that the drum message never goes away, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The instruction sheet *ships with the drum units*. The drum page counter on the machine needs to be reset when you install a new drum:

      [Excerpt from the manual]
      When you replace a drum unit with a new one, you need to reset the drum counter by completing the following steps:

      Press Menu.
      Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Machine Info..
      Press OK.
      Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Reset Menu.
      Press OK.
      Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Drum.
      Press OK.
      Press 1 to reset the drum unit counter.
      Press Stop/Exit.

      ... of if you have a touchscreen ...
      Press MENU on the Touchscreen.
      Press the Up or Down Arrow key to display Machine Info.. Press Machine Info..
      Press Reset Menu.
      Press Drum.
      The machine will display Reset Drum?.
      Press Yes, and then press Stop/Exit.

          I bought this printer for this business and it has been nothing but trouble. It eats toner cartridges like crazy. I also get the same error messages as mentioned above. I just replaced the drum and it is still saying I need to change the drum soon...??? Now I'm having to replace the "waste toner box". I'm about to go back to the kodak injet I have here. It's not much better but it's cheaper to use.
