Comments about Brother P-Touch PT-2030 Simply Professional Desktop Label Maker:
I needed a labeler to inventory hundreds of items we have in a trailer for use by a citizens' group with the Division of Police. This device provided excellent labels for permanently attachment to the tools, supplies, equipment and other items on the trailer. This allows us to create an inventory of each and every piece on the trailer so that when we get dispatched to a crisis area we can distribute the necessary equipment to volunteers and know where each of our items have been distributed, thus accounting for each one and having no loss. It is great for this. The only negative is that each label has too much unused tape before and after the printed part and I use more label tape than expected. I can easily live with that, but wish the cutting could be done closer to the label print.

Ordered the extra wide tape. I need to switch back and forth between tape size for jobs. Extra wide is to wide for single line jobs.
Easier to use than most!

This labeler is a lot easier to use than others we have had in the office. Labels are available in more than one color. There are label templates with borders and interesting styles. It is pretty fun to use. I happened to already have a universal AC adapter, so I don't have to use batteries with mine and I really can't comment on battery life.
Works great!

Expensive Tapes,Wastes Tape,Complicated
By Frank

I bought it to label a number of things and I don't use it. The tapes are very expensive and it wastes lots of tape. It prints a long useless leader then a useless colon (:). There is no way to prevent this. I found it difficult to learn and use. In the process, I was just wasting tape. So I have given up trying.. Since it was on some kind of sale, I could not return it. It makes an attractive paper weight. Such is life. In general, I like Staples and their products. The store is nearby. So I visit it often.

We use this product to label our tools, product, equipment, which helps us to keep track of our supplies, and machinery. We have seen that using this labeler that we can manage our small shop and be more cost effective. Thank You
Wonderful Labeler

I am ion charge of making the sign-out cards for our DVD Library. I've been doing labels on our HP Desktop which really not a problem. However, one day I was walking through Staples and saw the labeler on sale and decided to see if it would be something for our use. I was very satisfied when I unpacked it and tried some sample labels. I'm looking forward to ordering and using other sizes and colors of labels for the many categories of DVDs that we have. Thank you. Marie Sinden
Works well, but annoying.

Works well with ample options. The only thing that is really annoying is that the machine dispenses a minimum of an inch of tape before it starts with an actual label. There is no way to adjust for less, resulting in significant wasted tape, especially if you need otherwise short lables. Forces you to cut off what you don't need by hand, which is then wasted tape. The only exception is when you are printing multiple labels at once, and are willing to cut them by hand. Otherwise a good product that is funtional & error free. Also wish that the unit came with an AC adaptor. Would have been nice if I didn't have to buy seperately.
