The price was right. The unit was bigger than I thought it would be. This does allow for the interchangable cartridges and wider widths. Easy to hook up and start printing. Just have to watch your orientation or you could end up with a 2 foot long label.

So far, so good with this Brother QL-700 label printer. Hook up was easy for my Windows 7 PC. Software is easy to use (didn't need the enclosed CD) for installation. Doesn't take up much room on the desktop. Easy of changing labels is excellent. Starter roll of 100 standard mailing labels is great - they should last me a while. I like the fact that this is a thermal printer. That means I can adhere the finished label to the envelope or package immediately. The labels stick well. The speed of printing is WOW! Once you hit "print" - BAM... out comes the label. So much better than loading a sheet of labels into my regular printer. I had been looking at these for a long time, and the price drop of $60.00, plus Staples Rewards redemption made the final cost to me $25 and change.

Couldn't ask for more. I was using an inkjet before I used this product. Now I don't have to worry about cutting my labels, making sure the ink doesn't bleed (especially on barcodes) and the ink doesn't ever wear out, because it doesn't use ink! I've saved myself so much that the product pretty much paid for itself in less than a month. Great product!!!

After 6 years with a Dymo Labelwriter printing my stamps, I thought I was happy. Then the monthly fees kicked in and the printer died in the same week, so I found Pitney Bowes and chose the QL-700.(Note: if you plan to print postage, the label printer will have to be wired to the computer.)
I already use a QL-500 for routine label printing and the QL-700 gets to be a stamp specialist.
The only hiccup for me lay in the Editor Lite feature -- when that green light is on, the QL-700 uses its own internal drive firmware, which I suppose is handy for connecting to a PC without drivers. It took a few minutes to figure that this has to be toggled off before any postage software will work.
Consumables are reasonably priced and the auto-cut makes multiple-stamp runs a breeze. All in all, a step up from what I had before. Maybe even two steps.

Setting up the label pages for just one envelope or package can be a pain in the neck. With this little machine it is as easy as typing in a name and address. Makes my days easier.

I have 20 of these, or the QL-570 or , in use in locations around the US.
if you do not follow the installation procedure (i.e. plug in the printer USB cable before being prompted) you may have to download and run the Printer driver information cleanup tool. Not a big deal, but better to follow the procedure.

Have no complaints about it so far & have used for a few weeks pretty regularily. Easy to use. Prints very quickly! Sometimes setting up the labels in the software has a mind of it's own, but was minor.
