About Me Midrange Shopper
Comments about Bush Somerset Collection in Maple Cross Finish; 71 Hutch:
I bought this to go with the L-Shaped desk I bought and I'm very pleased with it. It provides plenty of extra space. Be prepared for the time it takes to assemble, even if you are handy with tools. This takes hours to complete. The only thing I'd change is the back panel which is made of flimsey cardboard. I wish it were made of material that is more sturdy.
Okay quality

The design is attractive, but the back panel is way to flimsy and should be nailed together while laying flat.
Overall good value

I purchased the hutch with the 71" L shaped desk. It took me about 2 hours to build the hutch (after 4 hours on the desk). I then had the muscle building opportunity of lifting the completed hutch onto the desk. I had to get pretty inventive with leverage techniques, but got the hutch on top of the desk without any damage. The minor concern I have is with the fit of the rear top back panel. It does not appear the piece was milled correctly and there are slight gaps near the back corners, but it's not very noticable and only a minor issue. I would suggest having someone around to help lift the hutch onto the desk, it will make things go alot easier. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

drawer braces misdrilled-not wide enough
By Dick

I think the drawer braaces are drilled on the wrong sides. There is not the proper spaces for the drawer braces to fit into. The drawers are sitting on top of the braces.
Easy to assemble

About Me Budget Shopper
I found it easy to assemble as long as I used a power drill. It takes at least two people to lift the hutch and attach it to the desk. Again, use a drill for best way to attach it.
Poor construction materials

Poor construction. Assembly easily blew out the sides at the screw holes. Had to request replacements. Still waiting

nice from the ffront

overall very nice. One drawback is the flimsy back panel and that some of the wood (pressed) is not finished on the back so best used against a wall.
Very Nice

It took a a very long time to put it together but it was worth it. If you have a drill to screw in the screws, bring it with you. It helps.
