This scanner should be priced around $20. After trying to work with it I returned it and purchased an Epson V500. Although that's not a perfect scanner, it was much better than this one and cost only about $40 more.

I bought the last Canoscan 200Lide at my store. Looked at 3 other stores.
Got a great price, works well. Wanted to share with relatives for 50th anniversary picture power point presentation. Could not find another in my area.

Did not work. Called Canon Tech Support. Finally got it working, then died again. Poor product. Staples no help: can not return to them because was 16 days instead of 14 day return limit; they didn't care that spent time with Canon Tech people etc. So, have to do complex return via Canon.

If there was a better explanation of how it actually works to scan and then SAVE it to your computer that would be helpful...but we figured it out and it works fine for what it is needed for. I think the best feature is being able to copy something on the scanner and send it directly to the printer.

This is the easiest bit of computer equipment I've ever owned. You don't even have to plug it in. It connects via a USB cable and offers a very simple menu (yet has plenty of options). So far - a month in - I love it!
