Comments about Canon CLI-8BK Black Ink Cartridge:
I have several Canon printers in the office. They all produce high quality prints and documents. The only drawback is the same as it is for all printers - the cost of the ink cartridges.

You'll not find a better ink cartridge for yourink jet printer...and I've tried a few others. The Canon one is well worth the slightly higher cost.

Canon black ink is great

I love our 9000 series large Canon printer hence ny use of Canon inks for every job we do. That includes color flyers, 17"x 19" glossy posters, and regular B&W letters and envelopes. Contrary to advice, we print church newsletters in color and over 2000 flyers at a time for various art events we have over the year. This is my 3rd Canon printer 9000 series in 8 years. We are an art gallery and we find it both convenient and economical to use our printer for most jobs rather than jobbing out to a professional.

I still like this ink for it's quality

I like the printer very much, but the ink is in very small cartridges, (compared to my old canon printer). Seems that I'm replacing ink very often. I often wish that I bought a printer with a color cartridge and a black cartridge like my old HP printer. The inks are always cheaper and they always go on sale. However I don't think that the HP scanner printers do as nice a job on photos as the Canon printers do. Why don't canon inks go on sale as often as the others do? To buy a whole pack of ink is almost 60.00.

I love the Canon Pro 9000 printer. It is exactly what I need as I do experimental artwork and have no need for speed. It handles the different paper thicknesses and the inks, black included, are of good density and chroma. The cost bothers me a bit as I seem to be constantly replacing cartridges and buying them on line doesn't help because of the added shipping charge. Can't you make an economy size that offers greater economy? I assume a slight redesign of the cartridge would be needed. Of course, I realize that ink sales are how you are able to offer printers at the price you do but constant users are penalized by not being able to buy in bulk.
Gets the job done, never a problem

I have been using it for years and have never had a problem, besides the fact that it is expensive.
