Works great

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

Great mouse, nice and big to help out my wife who has hand problems. This mouse allows her to operate the computer without the pain she normally gets from most slim mouse designs. The only thing I didn't know and do not like is the USB dongle is stored in the bottom of the mouse and the plate that covers it which is also the plate the glides on you mouse pad. This plate is removable and secured by magnets, which I do not have a problem with, until my young child gets the mouse and that plate pops off all the time. Had to store the mouse for the time being until he gets a bit older. So great mouse just wish the plate was secured by tabs, clips or something else.

Comfortable mouse

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

I have been using this mouse for two months now and really enjoy it. It's comfortable in my hand and prevents the fatigue and cramping that I had with other types of mice. It is fairly large but that's what makes it comfortable. It also has a lot of options for configuring it to your liking. I have a 4K display and many popups and menus are very tiny and unreadable. I configured the wheel button to zoom in and out which has been a godsend. They say the battery will last for up to a year. I expect that it will because you can easily turn it on and off as needed to conserve the life of the battery. It comes with a micro USB receiver so it's not sticking out of my laptop. The back cover is magnetic, which is very cool. It comes off easily and stores the USB receiver inside. It works on just about any surface. I've even used it on my couch cushions with no issues. I definitely recommend this mouse because of it's design and performance.

Not the best solution for a small hand

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

I was really attracted to this shape of mouse when I saw it on display in my local Staples store. It seemed as though it was exactly what I was looking for to help provide a more ergonomic mousing experience. The design concept is interesting, but could be made better by adding a groove on which to rest the pinky finger. This mouse is much heavier than the standard mouse I was using - and much larger. In fact, I found the size, together with the rounded shape, way too large for my petite hand! The buttons were relatively easy to click, but were in the wrong position for my shorter fingers. Most of the mouse is shiny, and I feel it would serve the purpose better if the whole surface was covered in the same non-slip material as the thumb rest. The overall quality is average. Although this particular mouse did not work for me, I think it may work well for a person with a larger hand, and would recommend it with reservations.

MOUSE

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

This mouse is really comfortable. I had hoped it would correct some bad slouch habits and stop the arm pain I was having. I find that it corrects the position of my hand, but still allows the bad (resting wrist on edge of surface) habits to continue.
Still a really nice mouse, just not upright enough to correct my laziness.

Takes a bit of getting used to

By The Small Business Website Guy

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

This mouse is different than other mice I've used in the past. It's designed to be ergonomic and reduce the risk of repetitive motion injuries. It seems to be fulfilling that promise. If I used my previous mouse all day, as I often do, my wrist would get tired or begin to ache at times. I've not experienced that with this mouse.

It did take some getting used to as its shape is different from a "normal" mouse. It's essentially a large half-egg with an indented "slot" along the left side. Your thumb goes in the indent and your fingers drape naturally over the top and right side. The buttons and scroll wheel fall naturally under your index and middle fingers, thereby reducing strain.

There's a button at the top of the indent which by default activates the "Back" button in a browser. I don't find that button to be convenient, but others might. All the buttons on the mouse can be programmed for different functions than are normal.

The mouse is larger than the usual mouse, so moving it around feels a bit odd at first, but I quickly got used to it. The USB transmitter (the mouse is wireless) protrudes about 1/2 inch from the side of my laptop. I'd have preferred a much shorter transmitter similar to the Logitech transmitters that barely protrude at all thereby reducing the risk of getting snagged or hit by something.

I got this one on sale for half price which is about right. I wouldn't have paid the full price for it. It's very nice for what I paid.

Ergo Mouse resolved years of discomfort

By Caveman

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

The Ergo mouse provides great physical relief over using a standard size mouse!! I am a 6 foot 4 inch, 245 pound male programmer and the standard size mouse would cause daily discomfort. After working 8 to 10 hours a day using a standard sized mouse, I started to develop medical problems with my right hand and in particular the right thumb. After using the new Ergo mouse for just two weeks, years of daily pain and discomfort were gone! The unique storage compartment for the USB connector makes it really convenient for travel. The on/off switch also provides tremendous battery life savings.

It is ergo!

By Ruth

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

This mouse is larger than other wireless mice. I am right handed as I make this next remark. It feels good under the hand as your thumb rests on the sculpted area. It is also handy to have a Windows button on the mouse in addition to the keyboard. With this mouse I do not get the same numbing sensation that I had previously due to the ergonomic design. The mouse does work on all surfaces which I have tried, including glass. It has all the features one expects in a mouse: left and right select plus the 4-way scroll button.

Takes a while to get used to - but great

By Tim

Comments about Microsoft® Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse for Windows® 7/8:

I purchased this mouse after experiencing pain in my right forearm. Not only has it helped with the pain, I also find it positions the hand in a way that makes mouse movement more efficient with minimal overall movement required by the wrist. Keep in mind, however, it does take some time to get used to. I estimate it took me at least 3 days to be totally on board. I also subsequently purchased the Sculpt keyboard, and have found that to be the best keyboard I have ever worked on. The "bounce" of the keys is excellent.
