        I write all the time. My friend wanted a journal for her trip and I bought a "pretty" one that turned out to be very ugly (poor quality paper, flimsy construction and teenie-tiny). While feeding my obsession (writing, drawing), I came across the Ampad journal and opened it, ran my fingers across the paper and bought it. Nothing beats a strong, smooth surface to write upon. I examined it carefully before deeming it worthy of gift-giving. When she saw it, her eyes lit (though it wasn't the pretty cover we'd both sort of hoped for--just plain black) and she smiled. She knows I'm a paper freak and now she is infected...I hope.
