I have a Dell printer so it is mandatory I believe to use Dell ink. I am not a computer wizard so I may be wrong about that. Anyway, I have had other brand printers in the past and was not enthralled with them. They used different ink to match their product, but they were more difficult to install and were more expensive. The Dell ink has been very user friendly and is extremely easy to load. The copy is very clear and distinct. No smear has ever been detected on my prints and I am not in the market to change to another printer even though mine is aging and is not the latest in tech capability.

The colors are clear and crisp. However, the cartridge empties too quickly. This may, or may not, be directly related to the cartridge and may have more to do with the printer itself, or the paper used for common applications.

It is nice to not have to purchase Dell Ink cartridges from Dell. I believe that the price for them for the number of pages printed is expensive. You are very close to where I live so it is easy to get them when I need them.
