    I've never had a problem with Dell Series 9 black ink cartridges so it only made sense to go with the "high yield" version. And it only makes sense, especially for black ink. Even when printing color projects, documents, pictures, etc., there is always some black. I especially like that I never have a smudge/smear problem with Dell Series 9 ink like some other brands. Even when printing multiple pages you can be assured that the ink will not smear from the pages rubbing together. A+

      printer burns through cartridges like crazy. I can go through a whole color cartridge from just printing the alienment pages for each time i have to install another black cartridge. I have to spend over $100/ month on ink. On a related issue the Dell printer does not comunicate very well with the Dell computer which was the only reason i bought them together. Ink level indicator is nver correct and mus always have a standby cartridge because you never know when it is going to run out.

          It does not print 294 pages...it falls well short of that. it prints more like 150 to 175 pages. The testing method for "pages" is not realistic.
