Lead points break out of the wood

About Me Professional
Comments about Dixon Ticonderoga Ticonderoga Pencils; #2-1/2, Yellow Finish:
This pencil is OK but once it is sharpened the lead breaks out of the pencil. I guess I need to spend more $$ on a better quality pencil.

It's just a pencil, but for as much as I use them I want one I can rely on.
#2.5 Pencil

About Me Quality Oriented
I had to special order these #2.5 pencils due to their not being stocked on the store shelf. This is the only pencil I can write with due to it being the right hardness for easy writing and not soft like the standard #2 that smudges. It erases cleanly. It is very good for notes.
Superb service!

About Me Budget Shopper
I always use the 2-5/10 ("F") pencils. They are difficult to find and Ticonderoga is just about the only mfr. The only problem I have ever encountered is the tests that I had to take that required the use the Nr.2 to color-in the little circles. Fantastic quality pencils.

great pencil, erases easily without smudging
Strong lead, but don't hand sharpen.
By BilalinMD

I use these pencils for making notes in the garage and marking wood with cut lines, etc, when I am making a woodworking project. A hand sharpener (what I use in the garage) tends to snap off the point due to the slop. An electric Boston (X-acto) sharpener in the office sharpens them perfectly. The lead is brittle, but a point lasts a long time (which is why I prefer 2.5 lead). No cosmetic issues whatsoever.
BEST QUALITY FOR THE MONEY

MY BOSS ONLY USES THIS PENCIL. IT'S THE ONE HE PREFERS BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF WORK HE GETS DONE WITH THE ONE PENCIL.
