The off-brands that I've tried do NOT measure up to Elmer's -- pay the extra few cents and go with the best. I use this stuff to secure treasures to shelves, keep cords out of the way OR reachable, hide a key under a desk, all KINDS of ways -- and I've never been disappointed.

We used this to put up postings around a school classroom, and it left unremovable orange marks everywhere. Considering that we used putty instead of tape specifically to avoid leaving marks, this is terrible. I would never use this product again.

This is the best adhesive putty I have found for hanging posters in a classroom that has painted cement block walls. Only two other things work better - a hot glue gun, and a "waxy" stick form of poster adhesive I found at a teacher supply store. The less expensive poster putties just can't hold larger posters to the walls for any length of time.
