What Are Epson Receipt Printers?
Epson receipt printers are thermal printers that print out thin sheets of paper with the customer’s transaction information on them. Epson thermal POS printers apply heat to the thermal paper to print out text and simple graphics.
These printers are capable of printing out simple receipts and statements that include the items purchased, the cost of the items, and your company’s contact information in case there are any issues with the products. Do Epson Receipt Printers Run out of Ink?
Epson receipt printers never run out of ink because they apply heat to thermal cash register rolls to create text and pictures. When it’s time for an Epson thermal printer to print out a customer’s receipt, the POS paper reacts to the heat of the device’s print head and blackens the paper roll to produce a graphic or text. Thermal receipt printers are easier to maintain than printers that use ink and toner because all you have to do is replace the roll of paper, and you’re ready to go.
Most thermal receipt printers are limited to printing out images in black and white because they do not use ink and toner. White POS paper is the most popular choice because it makes things easy to read, but other colors of receipt paper are available, such as pink and blue. What Kind of Paper Do Epson Receipt Printers Use?
An Epson POS printer uses thermal receipt paper to print out the receipts we see at grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, and more. Thermal paper is coated with either Bisphenol-A (BPA) or Bisphenol-S (BPS). These coatings chemical coatings react to the heat in the Epson receipt printer’s print head to create text and images on the thermal paper.
POS paper rolls come in a variety of different sizes, but the most common sizes are 3 1/8 inches and 2 1/4 inches. Epson thermal printers typically use rolls of 3 1/8-inch paper to print out receipts. Many business owners pair Epson thermal receipt printers with their cash registers because thermal paper rolls can roll out to lengths of 70 meters or more, meaning they can last a long time in between refills. Each roll has a warning stripe near the end to indicate when it is time to replace the roll.
