About Me Midrange Shopper
Comments about Fellowes Premier Flex Arm Copyholders; Weighted Base Model:
Also bought the lined paper, but the holes did not line up in the binder. Had to re-cut the holes.
Fellowes Flex Arm Copyholder
By Amy Aims

Inside the arm is a metal arm locked in with pins. This arm limits range of motion of the arm. I personally find this annoying and have disconnented the metal arm and use the tightening wheels only to hold hight and angle. Now I can position the document display anywhere I choose at any height an angle.
Perfect match to the binder

I like the colors, and I like the fact that they are plastic so that they are more durable than the usual paper dividers

Sturdy, but large

About Me Quality Oriented
A lot larger than I thought, maybe I should check the dimensions next time I order.Pretty sturdy and seems well made. The one bad thing is that when you adjust the arms you cant move one independently of the other, when you move it up it also moves back, when you move it down it also moves forward. The way I stopped this from happening is removing both arms there is a metal bar that attaches the movements of the two arms, remove this bar and put it back together. You can now move the arms independently, woohoo have a party now.

Arrived in a timely manner.
Works well, sturdy enough

I was looking for a copy holder that could support an entire three-ring binder at eye level next to (in front of, actually) my monitor. This seems to work fine, has no problem supporting the weight of a binder with 100 sheets in it.

A Desktop Dinosaur
By Nemeses
from NM
About Me Value Oriented
I bought this specific copyholder because I work with 11x17 size pages fairly often, and due to highly detailed items on those pages, I wanted to be able to pull the pages closer to my face when needed, so I could transcribe those details. The unit is heavy, so I imagine it's overall durability will be decent. However, right out of the box, some of it's smaller assembly components, such as the round caps that go on the joints of the arms won't stay on. They fall off with the slightest bump, so I've given up even trying to keep them on. The arm flexibility is limited and moving the arms is not a fluid motion, it resists, even when you loosen the joints more. The poor thing seems to come delivered already in an advanced state of office accessory joint arthritis. But what I dislike most about it is that because of the base's footprint and design, you really cannot place it so that papers on it are convenient and comfortable for you to read from while typing on your keyboard. By it's design, it either covers up a good portion of your keyboard and/or screen monitor, or it's too far left or right to stay fluid in the eye-to-screen senses. Add to that the fact that this is something of a dinosaur in size, you really have to arrange and move other things on your desktop around to accommodate it's bulky size (including height considerations). It really looks like one of those oversized office accessories from the 1970's that somehow landed in the middle of a modern 2008 office. A big ugly dinosaur.

The Flex-arm does work well, but takes up precious desk space.
