This is exactly what I wanted. It cuts beautifully. My previous cutter had a rotary blade, and it was just awful!

We opened the box to use it for the first time and at first I was dissapointed with it's light-weight and general flimsy feel. I tried cutting a single sheet of paper and it wouldn't cut the paper at all. It bent the paper of the edge and tore it a little. I am returning it for a refund.

This paper cutter is of a high quality. The depth of the handle is a bit over 18", not the 21" listed, so it fits perfectly in my 21" deep drawer when not in use.
This cutter is like the old fashioned ones. It is well built, cuts accurate, sharp edges (love that it's self-sharpening), and has slight indents in the small squares on the surface- just like the ones made years ago- wonderful measuring guides!
For me, it is the perfect paper cutter. Exactly what I was looking for. Worth the exta money because it is made well, with quality materials, and it will last.

This cutter is heavy and handles well. But I didn't feel that it cut cleanly if over 5 or 6 sheets of paper in it although it is touted to handle up to 15. The edges were rough when much paper was cut. But it did cut through the 15+ as advertised. Adequate but wouldn't want to use for work where real quality was important.
