Has been great

We have had this cutter for more than 4 years. Only now is the straight blade getting a little dull. I never try to cut more than 5 pages at a time - fewer if using card stock. That only makes sense as holding down multiple pages gets harder the more there are, so I have never tried to cut 10 sheets at once. I LIKE that I have to press the blade down because I know it is engaging and working. I always hold down my work with my left hand and do not release my hand until I remove the cut portion and make sure it is cut. That way if it has not cut all the way through I can simply run the blade backwards up the trimmer edge. This has only happened a few times. I use the printed inch guidelines almost every cut. They are invaluable for knowing where to position paper to cut a sheet exactly in half or quarters. I find the scoring, perforating and wavy blades work as promised and I do use them often. I really like that the blades change with just a quick turn of the cartridge and I don't have to handle the blades and switch them in and out. I think this was a good value for our money four years ago, but I cannot speak for ones currently being manufactured. Am considering buying another one for increased production of projects so someone can be working with me.

"Big results from a small product"

About Me Quality Oriented
I have a home-based design and desktop publishing business. I create many designs. I use lots of paper. This little product helps make my designs and finished product look like factory work.Clean sharp edges, even decorative edges. I love it. It is so lightweight that I put it next to me on top of my desk drawer and cut right there. I take it with me and sit out side to cut designs. Thank you this is very very nice.Only one con: I did not receive the color that I thought I was getting. I wanted the pink one.

I score and cut custom note cards at the rate of 20-30 per week. The Smart Cut 12" is just about perfect for my needs.

Don't Buy It!!
By Preacherlady

I am a minister and personally bought this cutter to cut bulletin inserts, etc. - but also so that my children could use it for school presentation projects. Unfortunately, it was the only paper cutter the one and only office supply store in our small town had in stock. It will not cut straight! The only reason why I'm keeping it, despite how expensive it was, is that I don't worry about my children cutting themselves with it. But I am saving up to buy a REAL paper cutter just as soon as I can!
So many possibilities now...

I've used so many different types of cutters but this one is by far the best. The pluses to this cutter are the folder and the perforating blade options. It helps me fold our brochures better. So far it cuts the paper very well. It's light weight, making it easy to transport from home to work.

SmartCut-Not-so-Smart
By Administrative Assistant

This product was in use for cutting promotional documents for the company I work for...I could only cut one page per time to avoid mistakes, the clear guard near the blade magnifies the paper and makes it hard to make a clean-cut, the cutter itself is VERY flimsy, and sways from side to side during cutting so that it is almost impossible to make a straight cut.
