I was looking for an inexpensive way to get my router, USB drives and cable box off of the floor under my office desk and came upon this dual-shelved and, with the slats, well vented small set of shelves.
This product was designed to stay together by friction. Slide this piece of wood (the post) in-between these two slats (shelving) and voilà. Well, it didn't even come close to supporting its own weight.
If you're handy with wood glue, have a set (8) of quarter-inch wood screws, have access to a phillips head screwdriver, and own a drill to create pilot holes (don't even try this without pilot holes as the wood just simply split) then you're good as gold.
Thankfully, I ordered three of these racks, the first of which will act as fine kindling. The remaining two are now fully in use and incredibly stable and well vented serving their intended purpose quite nicely thanks to, yes, glue, screws and a small drill bit.
It does, after all, have a title that includes the word 'Unfinished.'
