Staples has been a very reliable place for me to purchase the various office supplies that I need for my business. I enjoy having the cartridge by back program but like it better when the reward is higher. I make all our greeting cards, birthdays, anniversaries, 100 Christmas cards and other holidays. I recently added wedding and sympathy cards to the list. Last year I made 150 wedding invitations for a friend. The print looked professional. The bride received a lot of compliments on them. The HP88XL does a super job. The color is great and stays bright even near the end of the cartridge. Many of my cards have photos of the people receiving the card and the photos print out very nice looking. I am constantly amazed at how many cards I can do without changing the cartridge. I keep extra 88XL Cartridges on hand so when one is empty, I always have a replacement. It saves time and gas.

HP products in general are high quality; my only gripe is that an ink cartridge that holds perhaps a few ounces of ink costs over $30! Since the cartridges are recycled, you're paying a lot for just a few ounces of ink.

I use the HP 88xl ink cartridges in the HP Officejet Pro 5400. I find the XL cartridges do deliver sufficient extra pages to warrant the extra cost. As a Staples Prime customer, I am able to keep costs down by taking advantage of the frequent HP/Staples purchase and recycling programs. Ironically, I find that the Staples brand ink jet paper superior to the HP brand ink jet paper in printed appearance and sheet feeding. The HP paper has too much surface bite which results in multiple pages feeding at once. Never have that problem with the Staples brand papers.

Buying the XL HP cartridge is more expensive at first, but you save money with the larger size and also you are better off with the HP original cartridge. Really, it costs less per page. It works much better and gives you sharper images. There are three in my family and we print thousands of pages of documents each month. These HP XL cartridges last longer and printer better than even a laser printer.
