Color fine, quick dry but too few pages print with 1 cartridge. The price per page is outrageous, approx. $1 per page. If it was not for the convenience would go to Kinko's. A laser printer is not efficient for an occasional user of personal documents, also I have a copier, printer, scanner, fax combination, so I am stuck with this HP equipment and very expensive cartridge for my personal printing. Any suggestions by any of you? I would be glad to consider other options but cannot think of any alternatives.

I used this cartridge for photo of our grandson from school, on 96 bright Staples paper and was surprised how well this came out. I will continue to use these cartridge as long as long as my HP Officejet J6480 All-in-one printer stays functional.

I am a professional artist and I like to be able to either copy my original water colors or scan and download them to reprint on glossy paper and many times people cannot tell the difference from the original. I will make copies of my art and use to make personal and sellable greeting cards. Many times I will make framable pieces to give as hostess gifts or last minute thank you gifts for friends. I have also made unique dinner placement cards for my dinner guests to enjoy as memento reminders of their evening.

The ink is just crazy expensive! My machine is pretty much glitch free so going to laser printer scares me. I can't afford the down time, so I stick with the work horse. The HP machines recognizes refills and wont work properly, so again the down time isn't worth the hassle.
They have you right where they want you.
If you were to buy this stuff by the 55 Gallon drum it would be pennies an ounce, so it bugs the heck out of me that it costs so much. I would stop complaining if it where half the cost which would still be probably 1000 times mark up, because you know HP probably gets the stuff by the tanker truck or train at fraction of a penny an ounce. Chock it up as the cost of doing business like it or not. If you get in the cycle with the 2x or 3x rewards on cartrige recycling and catch the sales and buy a ton of ink you can minimize the pain. Always by the XL

We have used HP inks only in both of our printers for a very long time and have not had a problem as of yet. We purchase only at Staples because we trust them to be selling us only first rate products. The photos we print are very true to color and amaze those who see them. They are not smeared or distorted in any way.
