1. didn't recognize the cartridge.
2. the Ink smeared

Always use HP ink jet cartridges. They work everytime and work well until empty. I have tried off brands that say they are the same ink but the poor results show you that they do not use the same quality ink! I wish the cartridges would last longer. You cannot go wrong in purchasing HP products. I use the cartridges in a FAX, PRINT,
COPY, and SCAN unit. That unit is over 15 years old. Glad they still make cartridges for it! Also have a large format HP ink jet printer that has larger cartridges with much more capacity. They work great and last much longer for the same price.

I purchase ink cartridges at Staples a few times a year for my personal printer. My printer is probably about 10 years old but it functions fine, a little slow, but it functions to my expectations. The only probem is the cost of replacement cartridges. When you buy a printer they are usually reasonable priced but the replacement ink cartridges are very expensive. The last time I replaced them I returned the old cartridges to Staples. Also I use a black and white and a color cartridge. When the print gets light I have no idea which cartridge is running low on ink so I replace them both. Very costly.

I have used my HP inkjet printer for about 6 + years and never had a problem with each printing capability. However since I have not used it for anything but regular document and because of the kind of printer I have w/c is really old, I'm not sure how it would perform for any other function I've used it to print colored stuff once in a while on regular paper, I would grade it as fair.

I was aghast at the price when I first saw the package, but I now feel it is well worth it. I am involved in a fundraising campaign and have made many more copies than usual, but the colors and the black are still intense and vibrant.I have no doubts anymore that the value is in the package. I never thought that the cartridges would last as long as they have, or I should say that I never believed that they would still be operating after all the copies I have made. But I guess we have become used to that from HP and Staples

I have had this HP printer for several years. The only thing I do not like is the cost of the ink cartridges; but thanks to Staples for the return policy, the cost is getting more acceptable. The last set of cartridges lasted about one year because the wife and I are cutting down on our usage due to being retired. The only issue is that the nearest Staples store to where we currently live is about forty five (45) miles away. We use to live in the Flint area and I thought there was a store there but I could not find it.
