I prefer the duo black cartridges for a couple of reasons. It is more cost efficient to purchase and you do not wind up with extra color cartridges sitting on the shelf, which could possible cause a quality shortage.

The combo color and black cartridges are OK except that I do not use a lot of color and in order to stretch the funds better you wind up with extra color cartridges. With the duo black cartridges there is no waste and no excess cartridges lying around. This product is definitely my first choice to purchase.
