Unfortunately cartridges don't last long it seems. I date my cartridge changes and notice only a few months use doing random photo and document prints. I also don't like that I can't to choose to print only with a Black cartridge for B&W prints.

        I have used these cartridges for years without incident. However, recently I did have to replace the yellow cartridge as the ink flowed unevenly then not at all. I tried cleaning the heads, realigning the heads, but it was the cartridge and I just had to replace it. No problems since.

        ...it never dries out! At least not as far as I can see. I'm not a frequent printer. In the past, with a non-HP printer, the ink in my printer would dry out and clog the printer, leaving me with no printer when I needed to print something. That hasn't happened in the two years since I bought an HP printer and started using their ink.

        The print is always crisp and clear (until it runs out) and the printed material retains its brightness. Even high-quality photographs from my digital camera.

        Considering the good deal I get by buying the Combo Pak, I'm a very satisfied customer.
