About Me Infrequent User
Although this cartridge is not any that is in current line of HP devices there are many of us Home and Small Business users that need this series of cartridges. Namely the 40 and 44 series of ink Cartridges. Hopefully we will not have to relay on people to refill these cartridges for us for number 1 it is expensive and you can't relay on the results.
It would be nice to have this in store.

I know I have an old "plotter" and I really don't have a choice as to what cartrige I can use. Still, it would be nice to to be able to find it in the store and not have to order it every time.
1100 is a bit much. Works great.

This is used in a HP design jet plotter, for CAD designs. It would be good if there was a way to seal the cartridges when not in use...
I would recommend it to my friends

We use this on our plotter printer and not many office supply chains carry this anymore! Better price than others though!

HP 40 (51640A) Black Ink Cartridge
By Rolo's Jim

The expiration date chip HP puts in this cartridge in my opinion is a deceptive, fraudulent practice for the sole purpose of causing customers who use their plotter somewhat infrequently, to have to throw away a nearly full, perfectly good cartridge and purchase another. I have two plotters that use the same cartridges, and when one stopped working properly I simply began using the other plotter. When the black cartridge ran out in the plotter I was using, I removed the cartridge from the down plotter to use in the plotter in use and got nothing but a "cartridge error" message on the plotter, so it wouldn't plot. I didn't know at the time, but what that meant was "the date chip has expired in this cartridge so that you will be forced to throw this full cartridge away and go buy a new one because HP needs some more of your money". Rediculous!!!!
Very good product
