      Have the HP Officejet Pro 8500A - stopped printing - got an error message - did not want to face the fact I needed new catridges until I realized that I had the printer for over 1.5 years with the original ones in it. I am rather frugal so I did attempt to follow the trouble shooting steps first - when all was said and done - next time I get the error message I am ordering new printheads - the cost/benefit analysis says buy from Staples online. The order was in my possession in a couple of days - cost effective - love the service

      When I first went to my local staples I was told that the cost of this printhead vis a vis the cost of a new printer was so close that I should considder a new printer, and they suggested that the printhead might not be the problem, they also did NOT have the printhead at the store. I ordered it on line from staples since if it didn't work I could return it to Staples and apply the cost to a new printer.
      In the final analysis it was an easy and fast install and I had no problems. I did have to clean the heads and then align the cartridges to get it working 100%, but that was no problem. The unit is working 100% now and I am getting full use out of it.

        I needed a new print head for my printer, the yellow and black were streaking. It wa seasy to install, but the printer decided to print an alignment page each time I printed a document, waste of paper and ink! I had to run the utility for alignment and it finally corrected.

              When new printhead installed, continually got message that the printhead had a problem. I had to installl and uninstall the old one several times before message would stop and printer would print. Everything goes well unless the printer is turned off; then the error message begins again. So...I keep the printer on, but if it happens again, I'll have to probably buy a new printer as this is too time-consuming.
