The Hewlett Packard Office Jet 8600 Plus printer needs to have all of the color cartideges in place to even print in black ink. I needed to copy some important documents one day, but ran out of the magenta color, and was put in a bind to find out that I could not even make copies in black and white. Next time, I will buy a combination pack so that I have some additional colors handy in case I run out again. One of the downsides is that the color cartridges do not last long. Overall, it is very easy to replace the cartridge.

I am a quilt pattern designer and print all my own patterns for outgoing orders. I love hp ink and especially the 951s. I print on a daily business and sell to quilt shops all over the United States. The ink is efficient, has excellent color and is dry before I even pull it out of the paper bail, and begin folding it for pattern processing.

These cartridges are easy to install and are easily purchased at many locations. I like being able to excahage just the color that is out rather than a combo ink cartridge that goes out fast because you used up just one of the colors. The ink seems to last longer than the brand I used with my last copier. I was glad to see that Staples had the ink I needed always in stock. Another good thing about HP ink is that they don't waste resources by having a lot of Unnecessary packing with their ink. That upset me with my last copier.

No complaints on the ink cartridge, but complaint with Staples in-stock inventory. I went online to confirm the local store had the 3 plack XL in stock, which their website said was in stock at local store. Get there and the 3 pack was not available and they were also out of the Magenta XL in single pack. I had no choice but to get the regular Magenta ink cartridge. Since the nearest Staples is almost 20 miles from my home, I was slightly upset when I explained that I came for the 3 pack XL, the manager that waited on me had a "too bad" attitude. He did not offer to order and ship to store, didn't apologize, nothing!
