Works as advertised. Compared to laser toners all inks are too expensive. Not much else to say. I do get about 3-4 reams (500 pages each) of paper out of these cartridges so my 1,500-2,000 pages per cartridge is better than typical cheapo ink technology these days. As ink printers go, these HP OfficeJet's that utilize the 950-951XL cartridge-based ink printing systems are relatively efficient and cost-effective to operate even when printing a lot of color material. For color ink printing I highly recommend.

should have switched to xl along time ago. much more bang for your buck. lasts way way longer than the regular cartridges do; not even close. almost always happy with customer service at staples; helpful, courteous and very responsive to customer needs. i am a big fan of coupons, so more coupons are always appreciated and gratefully used. convenient locations make shopping at staples a lot easier, along with helpful store hours, so i am able to shop early mornings as well as evenings.
replacing HP 8600 ink catridge
It was easy to install, but I would get an error msg on my HP 8600 Plus "cover not closed". After re-closing several times & re-installing thew cartridge. I called HP support who were useless because my HP 8600 was one week after warranty ran out. HP said tough. Basically the HP 8600 is a 1 yr throwaway. And I still have a blue cartridge unused. I would not recommend a HP 8600 to a friend.

I do loads of photoshop work and homespun graphics for personal and school use. The colors I can render with the HP printer is pretty impressive for a home unit. I always get lots of compliments on the work I do at home which is wonderful since I don't have to pay the cost of professional printing and I can adjust the image as I see fit. I tend to blow through even the XL cartridges pretty quickly, but thats because I tinker a bit. I would recommend being sure of your final run before printing because the color is so saturated. That being said, I am a fan of this printer and the results I get.
