I read everything I could about this printer before I purchased it. It is absolutely the best printer that I have had in a long time. The color is sharp, the paper is easy to replace, and the color cartridges last a very long time. It is also very quiet but it is also "attractive". Not one of those big, loud, noisy machines. The ink is easy to install and you can easily lift the top for taking copies of books. This is one solid work-horse! The scan is also very easy to use and I would recommend this HP 8600 to anyone without hesitation!

I thought that this printer was going to solve all of my printing problems.
I have a Mac and it requires 10.6 OS to work.
Once I upgraded to 10.6.3, I find that there are still communication errors.
To date, I have not been able to successfully print using the doublesided feature.
I was also disappointed that I cannot print directly from my flashdrive.
I scanned a document to my flash drive and it did not capture.
When I am able to print, the printing is fast.
Documents do not complete in the que and I have to delete them manually in order to print again.
I am surprised to see how little ink is used in printing!
My last printer could make about 20 full color copies and be asking for ink. This one, has far exceeded that and not even a fourth of the inks has been used!
Right now, I am very dissatisfied with this printer.
I am going to have to take time to call HP and see if they can resolve these issues.
I will keep it if I can work the kinks out. It is great on ink.

Just bought this printer a week ago and I am very satisfied. If you are looking for a quiet easy to setup and easy to use printer this one is for you. I wish the ink was a little less expensive but I was told by friends you don't need to change as often as other printers.

This is my 2nd HP all in one printer. Great job for a great price. Bought the extended warranty and it paid off when the first one malfunctioned. I tried to replace it with the same make and model. That wasn't available so I bought the next step up. Love HP products and this printer is a great buy for a small business. I do a lot of printing and sent many faxes a day. Also use it to print pictures from my large flower garden for display at plant shows.
Never disappointed with the performance.
Customer service if and when needed is also a great asset to any HP product.
I will always recommend HP products to other small business acquaintances.

I have a Verizon Wi - Fi device for my internet and this printer does not work wireless. I asked in the store BEFORE I purchased it, and was told it would work. Now I have a new computer and a new printer and I am in the same situation I was in with my old stuff.
