I went in to buy a print head, and walked out with a new printer. Turns out that they only used print heads for a short time, and now the ink cartridges have the heads built in. I choose this unit because it has the ability to not only print, copy, and scan LEGAL, 14 x 8, but also the ability to shrink down legal to letter 8.5 x 11. The initial set up was easy, following the prompts, and away you go. This printer is really nice, The Eprint function is cool, I can forward emails directly from my phone to the printer, and it will print automatically.

It took us about 15 minutes to set up. The
wireless connection works well so we didn't need to use our
network. We hooked 3 laptops to it and it works great. Haven't
had it long enough to see any of the low ink use, but I trust it
works. Only draw back is that it shakes more than other printers.
Tech support had us move it to a more stable base and that helped.
For the money it is worth it!!!!

This is my 4th HP printer. I was going to reluctantly switch to another brand, however the salesman at the store felt the same as I. He told that it really didn't matter. The life of all printers is approx. 2 years. So I stuck with HP. This model is a little bigger than whatI'm used to, but the feature I like the most is the 2 sided printing. I have never had this feature before or to my knowledge I haven't. The only concern I am having right now is that this printer does not seem to like glossy paper. The paper will not feed through. I will have to follow up with an HP rep.

I had the previous version the 8500 series but it had started to really give me problems. Did my research and decided on this model especially as it was on sale at Staples when I was looking.
What a delight after the 8500. It's quiet, sleek, quick. Easy to set up wireless, fax and scans much easier than the old one.
Don't know about how much ink it will use as I have not had it long enough yet, I wish they wouldn't keep changing cartridges as you always lose out when changing printers! (I had 4 in the printer and 2 open from a multi pack now worth nothing!)
Great buy, I would recommend to anyone.
