We bought this as a replacement for a HP color printer that was trying to send us to the poor house. We've only used for 2 weeks, but so far it is well worth the money. Would be great for home office or small business applications. We are an insurance office and need neat, clear printing for our quotes and proposals. We also have to print forms and applications from the companies. Could not ask for any better result than what we have had with this printer.

This printer is compact and less noisy than most.
The scanner is excellent for a small machine and after you scan it shows you where your document is saved. My other printer I always had to search for the document.
The copy quality is excellent as well as the printing of envelopes and stationary.

The setup was easy including the fax setup,
The price was right for the resolution as well as the quiteness of the machine.

I would definitely recommend this machine for small offices and it does not take up your whole desk.

This machine, while advertised as print and copy duplex capable, will not copy duplex (a fluke with the instructions as well as the keyboard on the machine). So--if that is a show stopper for you, look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is a good bargain. My experience is as follows: copies are clear. The fax works well and instructions are easy to follow. The scan function is easy to use. Print is a no brainer, and reasonably fast.

Prints only in black and white. So--if color is your bag, do not buy this machine. Cost per copy is reasonable--more so if you have been on the revolving door of ink-jet replacement cartriges in the past. As always--and I am not advertising for Staples, you will find them easy to deal with if for some reason you are not happy with the machine. I make this last comment because I was initially not happy with the lack of copy duplex and Staples was right there ready to offer a refund, or a replacement machine (no hassle, no issue). No that was easy (had to say it)!

This is an overall, good solid machine for anyone that wants black and white only. Set-up is easy, and operating instructions are clear and concise. One drawback: it doesn't copy duplex as HP advertised. It does print duplex.

The manual clearly states it will copy duplex. The control panel clearly states it will copy duplex. I discussed this with HP as well as Staples. HP initially said the machine was supposed to copy duplex, and I spent about 2 hours over the course of two days trying to achieve a work around with HP technicians over the telephone. They also sent me several e-mails with different driver updates to fix the problem, but again--no solution. Then, one of their technicians tells me the printer was never meant to copy duplex and the manual, as well as the keyboard are clearly not correct. End of subject.

The staff at Staples took an entirely different view on the matter. They reviewed the manual (in a manner of minutes), noted the manual clearly stated the machine was supposed to be equiped to copy duplex, had no idea why HP took the position they did, but Staples was glad to refund my money, or apply the purchase price as a credit towards another printer.

The copy duplex matter is not a showstopper for me, but HP's position was a serious concern. Especially considering their attitude once they could not find a workaround to fixing the problem.

I like the keyboard versus touchscreen keyboard controls. I'll admit I was ready to drop $500 for a touchscreen, color laserjet printer; however, after seeing the higher priced printer in action at the store, and the difficulty the clerks had in getting the system to operate, and even with the minor duplex issue that I experienced after my purchase with my printer, I am still happy with the printer I purchased.

All in all, I am happy with my purchase.

Printer is used daily but not heavily. It is perfect for our shipping dept to keep up with the printing load. Also our executives find it is a very reasonable product for their offices. We are able to use the same toner for multiple units and it is very handy to do so.
