This is by far a better printer then the old Brother printer I had. I would have to order ink and toner into the old one every 2 weeks! I have had this one for 2 months now and just had to order a new cartridge. Very Satisfied!

I use this printer constantly thoughout the day. As a convenience copier, it sits at arms length from where I work. The slamming noise it makes is irritating. It sounds like the printer is broken. Would not recommend this printer if you have to have it close to you. Print quality is good and fast. Toner very expensive.

Great product for the price. We have 30+ offices and are slowly changing every office printer to this one. I would definitely recommend for every day documents.

I use it to create full color copies of the front page of our monthly newsletter creating roughly 85 in 10 copy increments. I also scan pictures of the events that take place here, we are a Meals on Wheels Senior Center and we have a lot of events.

We use it to fax and sometimes other people have a hard time sending us faxes though we have not experienced trouble sending. I don't know if that is a line issue or the machine itself.

Trouble begins if I stop or cancel printing while it is printing...I have learned to wait till any given page is completed before hitting the cancel/stop button. But that does not always work & it will not print no matter what I do until I turn it off at its power button, wait a few seconds then restart it. That is such a pain as it has to do whatever it does with the ink. It sounds like it has to 'wake' up the ink or something like that. IT actually sounds as if little people are inside kicking and hitting it with tiny hammers. I am not kidding.

Jams happen all too often with regular every day copy paper. In fact, at other times an error will pop up saying I have a jam when there is none.

I have also noticed, in the past couple of months a squeaking noise when anything prints. I did a search to troubleshoot this problem but nothing works.

In conclusion, for the price we paid, I wish I had spent a little more and chosen something more dependable and less frustrating as well I wish that I have researched the product a bit more.

The HP 1102w is a good low-volume laser printer at a reasonable price. As other reviewers have noted, the cartridges do not last long, and they are very expensive. It is sad to see that HP has taken the route of other companies: putting a low price on the printer and then charging outrageous prices for cartridges.
