Comments about Canon BCI-6Y Yellow Ink Cartridge:
I have always purchased my ink cartridges at staples. Previously I would purchase the staples brand as they cost a little bit less than the canon brand. But along with this cartridge I purchased a value pack containing four of the five cartridges that my printer uses, as well as photo paper. I had a coupon for $20 off your ink purchase of $100 or more. Therefore I also purchased the yellow, magenta and cyan in single cartridges as well as black 6 ink cartridge 2 pack (which I wish was also included in the pack as it is the only one that has to be purchased seperately). While I also think that staples brand ink cartridges are comparable, I prefer to purchase the brand of ink cartridges that matches my printer. The canon brand ink cartridges are always of great quality. I only have my camera phone for taking photographs, and the pictures I frequently print always turn out nicely. In fact, the quality meets, or even exceeds, my expectations. I believe this is because the ink is of such good quality. I will continue to purchase the canon ink cartridges at staples store. With the rewards program I can recycle each cartridge for $2 each towards my next purchase of ink.
Real Canon ink - a high quality product

My ancient 960i printer still works well and using Canon ink ensure that at it will continue to work for years to come. The system tells you when the tanks run low so you never make off-color images (good). The tanks themselves are not recyclable (bad) so you have to throw them away (am I wrong Staples??) These tanks change easily and seem to last a long time. Also, Canon printers have an alignment technology that helps ensure sharp prints. Since I use the printer for photos almost exclusively, and photo paper is so darn expensive, this is a nice feature.

Pro photographer, I still use this old workhorse (Pixma iP 4000) for proofing and making DVD covers, it does the job and it's paid for.

The Canon Cartridges are fine. However, the Price per cartridge is Way Too Expensive! (And they are not produced so an individual can refill them.)

I do my own greeting cards and use a lot of clip art. The Canon Inks are great for this project, and the yellow gives me the sunshine that I want in those gay and bright daytime scenes.
