Comments about EPSON Inkjet Multifunction Machines; Expression Premium XP-800 Small-in-One:
Epson makes the best printers ever. I have owned Epson printers since 1997. Each time one gives out, I buy another Epson. No other printer does what Epson does for the price. I print a lot of printable CD's. Epson does a great job and does it very quickly. The colors are vibrant and dry quickly, no smearing. The replacement cartridges are very resonable priced compared to some of my old Epsons which is a huge bonus. Years down the road when this Epson gives out, I surely will purchase nothing else but Epson!
Much over-hyped

Very expensive ink costs. Photos are easy ,but harsh contrasts, not as good as HP or Canon. Envelopes still difficult to print. Faxes are easy and fast. Document printing is not as good as prior Epson models.Overpriced, even at the reduced sale costs. Wouldn't do it again. The only improvement over previous models is the footprint and that just isn't enough.
Good product

This printer does it all in one small package! I've had other Epson printers without problems. I've also had other name brand, larger, more expensive AIO printers with costly print head issues - they only lasted long enough to be out of warranty.Haven't had this one long enough to rate its durability, long term reliability, and cost effectiveness; but I really like the print quality and printing speed. Separate tray for photo paper is nice feature; also the ability to print on CD and DVD media.
XP-800 Review

No problem replacing an existing WORKFORCE 510 with the new XP-800. Only had a problem with printing a web page from CHROME. Internet Explorer & Mozilla FIREFOX prints from the web page fine. Only a problem that is caused by CHROME, not EPSON XP-800.

Ink consumption is extreme
By Gordon

Superb print quality and functionality, but this printer eats ink. Once one cartridge is empty (after 10 pages max), you cannot print. It is infuriating to not be able to print a black text document only because one color cartridges is empty. Also, when installing a new cartridge, get ready to spend 1/2 an hour doing up to 5 nozzle checks before it prints without skips.
Epson XP 800

This Epson printer was easy to install, even for a non Computer Tech. person. I was going to wait for my Computer Tech. Supervisor son to install it for me, but he became too busy with a special project, so I did it myself. I like to do/lean new things, and this was easy. Yeah!
my install
By matt

had bad experience with install. print quality was poor and could not get it resolved after numerous attempts with nozzle, head alignment. Decided to replace ink cartridges as i figured that the cartridges might that come with printer might be bad i replaced and it improved but was still not right i did multiple head cleanings, alignments which continued to help until it is now okay but when you print the test page there are still a few lines that are missing i did a ink check and now i am at 60% ink remaining and i haven't even printed anything yet. i am trying to contact epson to ask for a set of replacement ink or i am taking the printer back. My 3rd epson and I am not happy with this install
Love the Epson XP-800

I came from a stand-alone printer & stand-alone scanner home office environment, and needed to replace the printer. I looked at Epson because of it's reputation, and wanted something with good print quality on fabrics & paper. I am very impressed with it's wireless capabilities for printing, but especially for scanning - and it was so easy! The print outs are fast and of the quality I wanted. I would purchase this product again - it has everything I wanted and is so easy to use.

I'm Very Pleased ...

I just replaced an older 'all-in-one' printer with the Epson XP-800. It has a nice compact design and was extremely easy to set-up. I connect via a wired network but the printer works wirelessly from my wife's laptop. Print quality seems good although I haven't printed any photos yet. The fax is fine and the scanner and software are great. Ink use seems better than previous Epson printers. So far so good ...
