alright tape
By Admin

I got this tape for taping up cardboard boxes we store files in, as well as taping up some packages I send out every once in a while. It rips easily without scissors, which is nice, except that it rips a little too easily so it is hard to get a nice long strip of it. And the edges are a little sticky so they catch onto things if you slide the box along a surface. So with my little experience with this tape, I'm not sure if I can say it's that great for what I'm using it for, but it works.

Love using this tape to cover up old UPS barcodes when reusing cartons. It can be expensive for sealing the whole carton though.

Great for small [...] sellers!

I am a small-volume [...] seller, and keep my overhead low so that I don't need to add a handling charge to my shipping rates. I can't afford an expensive machine to wet gummed paper tape, so I prefer to use this Intertape flatback self-adhesive tape, which performs quite well at sealing boxes for shipping and covering up old writing or printing on recycled boxes, while still providing a surface which I or post office employees can write or stamp additional information on. In addition, it is much easier to use than gummed paper tape, since no water-filled dispenser is required, and the roll is light and portable enough to carry to whereever the package is waiting to be sealed. The rolls are a bit too large to fit on the "tape guns" popularly used with plastic shipping tape; however, it can easily be cut with ordinary scissors (or by hand if necessary -- though I'd recommend using scissors), and doesn't easily rip into thin "shred"-type strips, as the cheaper plastic shipping tapes can do when the cut edge of the roll accidentally gets stuck to the layer underneath. It adheres better to paper or cardboard than plastic, so if you must apply it over plastic tape, tack down the ends with a short strip of plastic shipping tape (and remember to apply the paper tape first next time). Great for thrifty shippers who recycle shipping boxes, as well as for small businesses who save on new boxes by buying overruns of other companies' preprinted boxes.
