    The Kodak Black Ink cartridge - 10XL - really did not live up to its name. It did not last as long as the regular Kodak Black Ink cartridge - 10 - so I am befuddled by the "XL" claim?
    What could be the matter?

    The black is perfect, not too dark and not too light. From printing legal documents of all sorts to printing pictures, old photographs, anything you could think of, you cannot tell the difference between high dollar printing and printing with this simple cartridge. Easy to use, easy to install, decent life for the ink in the cartridge and priced pretty decent. I wouldn't mind if the price was slightly lower, however one gets more for their money on this type of ink cartridge. What more could one say than buy this, use it whether for personal use or business use, this product is the one because you get more for your money.

    Is the lack of humidity in Arizona impeding the life of the Kodak 10XL cartridge? It seems to run dry faster than I thought it would. But, it may be my infrequent use of it that is the problem. Anyway, the cost factor of the product is one reason I went to the Kodak printer. It is reasonably inexpensive to operate, and it does a good job of copying and scanning.

    Although the Kodak printers have great print quality the ink does not last as long as they claim. I print most documents on draft setting to conserve ink and still have to replace cartridge after about only 100 pages (with very little color used at all and most being only documents). If I print 4x6 pictures I have to replace even sooner. And the cost has gone up about 50% in the last 2 years.

          The Kodak XL black ink cartridge seems to last for significantly longer than regular Kodak black ink as advertised. We use it for our small non profit business and use primarily black ink and we were replacing the regular black cartridge once or twice monthly. The XL lasts about a month and a half with heavy use. It installs easily and does not make a mess when installing. We did get a defective cartridge once from Kodak but we called their service center and they sent a new cartridge within a weeks time.
